Summary

in 2026 users were invited to the Museum of Everything, which was trying to do what it's name implies. However, just before they arrived, a large amount of the artifacts had gone missing! Users were given the task by the curators of the museum to find just who took them and bring them to justice. Users started to suspect this was bigger than just the museum when mysterius coded whispers began to be heard from a storage closet, and sure enough, it turns out that Madison, the "mermaid" from the aquarium exhibit, was secretly a time traveler who had witnessed all of Chicken Smoothies past events and grew envious that she had been left out, resorting to stealing artifacts in a bid for power. She was apprehended on the last day by Squiddy, a face users hadnt seen in years! With Madison taken to the Museum Society, all the artifacts were replaced and users could enjoy the museum in its full splendor!

Day 1 - July 25th
Cathy

Good Morning and welcome to the Museum of Everything - well, almost! That's the plan! We're rough and tumble and ready to uh... fumble some artifacts, unfortunately. All this construction has really caused some problems for our existing exhibits. Those construction workers don't understand how delicate some things can be! If you could help us out with picking up any bits and bobs you find, we'd really appreciate it. That's why you've got special access before the grand re-opening, in fact! We heard how you've helped others on your vacations, and Avian and Totoro said you'd be just what we needed.

Make sure you check out the exhibit halls, you might even get a thank you for bringing their things back. If you want a full tour, I'm always at your service, but I've been known to talk your ear off, so feel free to read the placards and ask the exhibit curators as well if you have any questions! I've been hanging out at the museum since I was just a little kid, so I know a little bit about a lot.

Hey, do you mind if these folks join your tour?

Welcome, welcome, to the Museum of Everything! Here in the gift shop we have, well, everything, all the trinkets and tchotchkes you need to make your memories last for all time. We're getting in even more things as I speak to match the new exhibits, because this is an experience you'll never want to forget! Just because you can buy things here, though, doesn't mean that you can take anything from the museum home. Make sure you keep all your sticky fingers clean!

As a gesture of goodwill for you helping us clean up the museum, please take these! You should wear one, because we’ll get a little free advertising!

Mystik Dann
Walden

Welcome to the wonders of the natural world! I love spending my time out in nature, seeing the sights and smelling the smells, but that's more difficult for me these days. I used to go out on some really dangerous expeditions to find new animals and plants that had never been discovered before, as well as helping count and catalogue endangered species. Thankfully, I'm able to work here and show all of you the magic of this exhibit! Animals are my favorite part of the natural world, and we've got some really special stuff for you to experience. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Sorry for the mess! These insect specimens got out during the construction. I think I’ve collected them all again, though.

Yep, those bits and bones and such all over are probably mine. I just got back from a dig and I found some really fascinating specimens. I schlepped them all in myself, and I was just getting to the arranging when they started installing all that hoopla upstairs! They're causing a bunch of racket, and the vibrations aren't good for fragile things that are thousands or even millions of years old! But please, take a look around in the chaos, and I'll be holding a story hour about my latest expedition this afternoon.

Wow, those really got scattered far! I’ll show my appreciation by offering you some of these.

Sauros
Michel

Do you know where you came from? I do! Culture and civilization are fascinating. The things that make people act to change the world are easy to spot, once you know the clues. Between you and me, I think that a lot of what we have guessed about those who came before us is based on assumptions and incorrect information. Thankfully, I've been able to use my time here at the museum to study all this phenomena. I'm writing a book, in fact. If you have any questions about the exhibits, feel free to ask, but know that I am dedicating much time to study and the pondering of the past.

Day 2 - July 26th
Cathy

Look what I have for you today! It's a preview of one of our new exhibits, the Crystal Cave! We are really expanding into the interactive and can't wait to show you all the new stuff we have in store. You're doing such a great job cleaning up that we might be able to open as soon as tomorrow, if these construction workers get a move on! You're going to love the new staff we hired as well. If I can tell you a secret, we're getting a real, live mermaid! Oh, and someone who was almost an astronaut. All the real astronauts were busy, unfortunately, but even being almost an astronaut is still really impressive.

Help us get our gem collection back into order by playing the Gem Sort game! Click on gems to increase their value, and match the value of three or more touching gems to clear them from the board! Click the image below to play.

These are too big to store, they’re pushing out all the other merchandise! Can you keep them safe until some stock sells out?

These dinos are so cute, but everybody seems too timid to be the first to take one. Maybe if you take one, everyone else will follow your example? Just tap on whichever one you like best!

Mystik Dann
Walden

You're doing such a great job cleaning up the museum! We really appreciate your help. If you get bored with the new interactive things, you can always come hang with me, slow down, and enjoy the scenery. I've talked to some of the new exhibitors and I heard that there's going to be some painting demonstrations. That sounds like fun! Maybe we'll even get a chance to participate and recreate some of the beautiful scenery of the natural world.

Thank you for collecting those! If you hang out for a little bit, I’ll tell you about some of my favorite mammals.

I've seen some gems in my day! There was once this huge cave full of stalactites, stalagmites, crystals, and sparkling pools. Some rocks tumbled down and I had to lift them all up myself just to get by, but deep in the heart of the mountain there was the most well preserved skeleton I have ever found! I dusted off each piece carefully - I'm more than just my strength, don't you worry - and brought it out before reassembling it into the beast you see in the lobby. Isn't it a real stunner?

Sauros
Michel

This construction is really giving me a headache! How is one supposed to unravel the mysteries of civilization with constant pounding? It makes me wonder why we ever built buildings at all, if this was how it started. But of course, you like them when they're finished. I understand that. This journey we're all on? Well, I suppose it can be justified by the destination.

Day 3 - July 27th
Cathy

This is a disaster!! Someone broke in last night and stole priceless artifacts and pieces of our new exhibits. Things were almost cleaned up and now, well… actually, not that much stuff was taken. We almost didn't even notice with all the construction debris, but thanks to your cleaning it's clear something went down! We don't think it's going to stop us from opening tomorrow, but the biggest problem is we're not sure exactly what was taken.

We're checking with the new exhibitors to see if they can identify the missing pieces, but with all the hustle and bustle it's hard to pinpoint what was here already, what was taken, what just hasn't arrived... ugh! But I'll keep my happy face on because we can't be sad during the grand re-opening! If you can find anything out, that would really help us. You've been so great so far!

We’re due to open tomorrow, and all my shelves are a mess! If you help me straighten them up, I’ll give you some old stock as a gift.

Mystik Dann
Walden

What a terrible thing to do! Anyone who works in a museum knows the value of our artifacts and how important it is for them to be displayed for education. They don't do anyone any good locked up in a private collection, that's what I always say. I wonder if this thief is some kind of collector, or if they have other plans?

Insects represent an enormous percentage of all the animals we’ve ever discovered! I’d love to teach you about all the different orders.

Well, it doesn't look much messier in here than it was yesterday, as far as I can reckon. Maybe I was passed by in the heist, because they were worried I would flex my muscles and take them out? We'll never know, I suppose, since I didn't have everything new catalogued before they decided to blow throw. If you do find them, bring them to me and I'll help you lay down the law!

Sauros
File:(img png)
(npc name)

Nope, nothing missing here! I keep meticulous records and I would know if someone had pinched one of my precious artifacts. Well, I do suppose that there are the things that got knocked around that you've been so kindly bringing back... perhaps there is a pattern in what we lose that could lead us to what is to be found? No, not the artifacts. The answers. You just need to ask more questions!

Thanks for bringing back those artifacts! Once I can be sure they’re not tampered with, I’ll show you this replica exhibit!

Day 4 - July 28th
Cathy

Good Morning and welcome to the Museum of Everything!

If you're looking for the game, it's now up in the Crystal Cave, because we are officially open, everyone! The new exhibits look fantastic and we'll just keep it hush hush that not everything is how it should be. To thank you for all your help, we're offering you a limited amount of free tickets to the new exhibits. You can come back one an hour and grab another one, and I'm sure there are still some stray artifacts to find, so don't hesitate to pick them up.

The construction crew is officially out, and I'm so excited to show all the new visitors around. I'll be running tours of the new exhibits all day, and sniffing around to see if I find anything suspicious! Come straight to me if you catch any thieves.

The new shipment is in, just in time for the exhibits to open. I hope you enjoy all the new stock, but know that I've added extra security measures. Don't even think about putting something in your pocket without paying for it!

To celebrate the second floor opening up, please take these!

Mystik Dann
Walden

Wow, that's some really cool stuff up there! I didn't get much of a sneak peek, so I'll have to head up when I'm not busy and really immerse myself in the new exhibits. There are fewer people down in this part of the museum now, but I guess that makes sense. I'm sure they'll come back after the novelty wears off.

If you’ve got a penny, I’ve got a souvenir for you! Visit each exhibit to collect them all.

Woohoo! Maybe the other exhibits opening means I'll stop having to deal with tremors from drills putting hairline cracks in my specimens and other nasty business. I know it's good for the museum to have more exhibits, but bones aren't as strong once they're outside your body! I gotta protect them. Anyway, you tell me if there's anything worth seeing up there, or if I should just stick to my own spot.

If you’ve got a penny, I’ve got a souvenir for you! Visit each exhibit to collect them all.

Sauros
Michel

If you’ve got a penny, I’ve got a souvenir for you! Visit each exhibit to collect them all.

Wow, don't you look stunning! Each individual is their own gem, cut and molded by their experience and choices, inside and out, and you're positively glowing. Here in the Crystal Cave I have on display some incredibly rare specimens, and I'm always happy to teach you about different stones and identify things you bring to me! Who could resist spending all day enjoying the beauty of these awesome artifacts, both natural and made?

I’ll teach you about a new type of gemstone everyday, and the gemstone of the day is… Turquoise!

If you’ve got a penny, I’ve got a souvenir for you! Visit each exhibit to collect them all.

Druzy
Van Gouache

I've heard it said that anything can be art, and, well... I must admit that I have a fascination with the classics nonetheless. However, I've done my best to represent all styles here, and I know much about them all! Please feel free to view the paintings, and I can open my studio if you'd like to try your hand at painting yourself! I will be holding demonstrations of painting techniques in the afternoons, and I can see how that would make you want to try it out.

If you’ve got a penny, I’ve got a souvenir for you! Visit each exhibit to collect them all.

I bet you've never seen a real mermaid before! I can prove it; just watch how long I can stay under the water. I promise, this tail is real! No tricks, only shows three times a day, seven days a week. Please feel free to check out the fish and other animals as well - I'd never force them to perform, so I do it myself. They told me that it was unwise to have this much water on the second floor, but as you can see we're making it work!

While setting up for the opening I found some spare aquatic decorations, feel free to take them!

If you’ve got a penny, I’ve got a souvenir for you! Visit each exhibit to collect them all.

Madison
Marfusha

Space, the final frontier! Step into our planetarium and view models and depictions of the universe stretching far and wide, ever expanding around us. My parents used to say I was born looking up at the stars; I never wanted to sleep at night! It's fascinating. So, I trained to be an astronaut, but I didn't quite make it, something about getting distracted too frequently. Still, I can handle zero-g and I've never met a rollercoaster that wasn't a snoozefest for me. I'm happy to share my knowledge of space with you, just tell me what you need!

I’m so excited that we’re finally sending astronauts further away from the planet again! I wish it was me, of course, but I’m happy for them!

If you’ve got a penny, I’ve got a souvenir for you! Visit each exhibit to collect them all.

I’d love to teach you about the different stages in a star’s life! The exhibit is right this way.

Day 5 - July 29th
Cathy

You're doing a great job looking for clues! Make sure you check under, over, around, and maybe even through? Just don't fall down the stairs or topple any shelves, we don't want more artifact casualties than we already have! I wish I could help more, but I have to run these tours. However, we have full faith in you to figure out who the thief was and what they took.

You can look around here, but I don't think you'll find anything! I'm running a tight ship and no one is getting in or out without my eyes on them. I heard one of the new exhibitors suggesting my fingers might be sticky, so I'm keeping just as close of an eye on someone trying to frame me. There are absolutely no artifacts that shouldn't be in this gift shop!

Mystik Dann
Walden

Please feel free to search here! I'm happy to help in any way I can, but unfortunately I didn't see anything. I'm not even sure I'm missing anything… with all the construction I really lost track of what was rattling around. This has inspired me to make sure everything in my exhibit is catalogued for the future

Scientists often disagree on how many orders of insects exist, but I’ll try to teach you them all. Here are some more!

When you arrive at the ancient world exhibit you see a note that reads, "Gone on an expedition! This was an opportunity I couldn't pass up, I'm sure you understand the allure of a fresh dig. I've left out my notebooks so you can learn more about my previous expeditions and the new things I am still putting out on display. Stay strong, my friends!"

There’s a place to drop off more artifacts, and a whole placard with information about dinosaur coloration!

Sauros
Michel

Now you're talking! I see some of you working so far outside the box you might reach a conclusion that blows the socks right off our more restrained exhibit hosts. Don't let anyone tell you that playing checkers on top of a model globe can't lead you to the thief. I like the way you all think!

I know it's dark in here, but I'm happy to have you look around. I might be missing something, but it's hard to say, as I still have some things from the exhibit being shipped in, and I might have placed something in the wrong box before I sent them off! I'm also waiting for some cool things I've gotten on loan from private collectors, and I'm really excited to show you more stunning crystals.

I’ll teach you about a new type of gemstone everyday, and the gemstone of the day is… Jasper!

The specific processes that result in banding inside of agates are unknown… it’s kind of hard to look inside a rock while it’s forming. They sure are beautiful, though!

Druzy
Van Gouache

Well, there is one thing missing on that wall over there, see the light that's pointing at nothing? Or perhaps, that is the art? I had some things coming in from other curators and I'm not sure I got everything. Should I check there's nothing hidden in the frames? Behind the portraits? I didn't even get my demonstration done, I just kept wanting everything to be perfect. You're enjoying the exhibit, right?

Present the correct exhibit ticket, and I can show you famous paintings of boats and open waters!

Hmm... I haven't seen one of my favorite fish since yesterday, but you do know how they can hide. Feel free to take a look around, but I think it would be quite hard for any kind of thief to steal something from me, they do need water, after all, and live fish are quite a bit harder to keep than dusty old fossils.

Madison
Marfusha

I know this is the biggest area of the museum, so please take your time searching! I can show you how the exhibits were put together; I made a lot of them myself! Maybe Van Gouache isn't the only one with a bit of artistic talent, eh? As far as something missing, well, it's possible. If I figure out what's gone I'll let you know!

Day 6 - July 30th
Cathy

A strange door emitting whispers upstairs? I'm sorry, I've been by but I don't hear anything up there. I don't have a key for it either; it must have been misplaced during construction. It's just a storage closet, not even very large. I think there were some mops in there? Even if it had something to do with the heist, well, it would be quite silly for the thief to remain at the museum! Whoever took that stuff must have run far away. Maybe the pipes for the aquariums are just making a weird noise?

I'd love to help you figure out your weird whispering doors, but I'm committed to maintaining my post! If I step away, someone might come back and steal things from the gift shop, or something even worse! You're just going to have to figure it out yourself.

We have a new cuddly plushie based on a very famous fossil! What do you think?

Mystik Dann
Walden

We can look for answers to our problems in the natural world, and I'm sorry but I don't know much about strange, esoteric whispers. I went up there to check out the mermaid show earlier, and I didn't hear anything when I walked down the hall. I hope you figure it out, if there's really something there. Maybe you're just tired from working so hard searching for clues yesterday?

--

Sauros
Michel

I'd say it's aliens, but really, it might be. Ask your friend up in the Planetarium - do they really think we're alone in the universe? Seems very unlikely. Unfortunately, I don't hear anything from down here. But, I do believe you. Let me think about it overnight and I might have an idea tomorrow. Worst case scenario, we can break down the door? I don't want to stand for a mystery right under my nose.

Over here, we have some examples of ancient tools! What do you think they were used for?

Art has always been something we created! What do you think of these ancient designs?

Strange whispers from the storage closet? Hm, I'm not sure. Some Smoothians did bring me a few glowing gems earlier, which shouldn't be possible. There were no wires, bulbs, or any light reactive pigments in them that I could identify. A true mystery, perhaps a little mystical, but I went out there and I couldn't hear anything. They didn't issue me any keys when I was assigned this area, so I can't help you with that, either.

I’ll teach you about a new type of gemstone everyday, and the gemstone of the day is… Opal!

Druzy
Van Gouache

Strange voices? Nope, I don't want to be involved in that at all! We've already had enough disasters with this opening, from the construction knocking things around, to a heist, to--well, this! Even if I heard something--which I didn't--I didn't hear anything, if you know what I mean. I'm just going to do my demonstration and it's going to be perfect this time, right? Right. I'll just keep telling myself that.

Strange whispering in the storage closet? Well, I'm not sure. Seeing as I'm a real mermaid, I can't leave this area without special preparation. Regardless, I don't think I speak any languages that all of you collectively don't. Anyway, I have to get ready for the next show! I have to be in just the right mindset to perform the triple backward somersault with two twists.

Hey, my friends lost their tickets, could you help them out? I’m sure they’ll save you a good seat.

Madison
Marfusha

Michel can say it's aliens all they want, and I don't doubt that they exist somewhere, but certainly not close enough to be here, robbing a museum. The logistics involved are just laughable. As far as the whispering, I'm sorry to say I don't hear it, for your sake. I'd love to wrap up this mystery, but maybe it's just a strange noise from one of the other exhibits, maybe some bones grinding together? Ants in a canopic jar? Not likely, but certainly more likely than aliens.

Feeling defeated, you wander the upstairs hall, going from exhibit to exhibit and enjoying the museum, but you know something isn't right. There should be more clues about the thief who perpetrated the heist, but all your investigations led nowhere.

As you pass a small door you previously assumed was just a storage closet, you hear a strange whisper. You approach, putting your ear to the door. The whisper becomes louder, more discernable–or it would, if it was in any language you understood. You gather other Smoothians to examine the door. They can all hear it too, but no matter where in the world they are from, no one speaks the language they are hearing. It has harsh consonants, and the vowels sound like they might be in the wrong places.

You try the knob, but the door is locked. You knock, but no one answers. When you come by later in the day, the sounds have stopped, but when you return before close of the museum, they have started up again. You try to peer under the door, but it is flush with the floor. You post Smoothians to watch the door all day, but no one enters or exits. It's a true mystery.

A door?
Day 7 - July 31st
Cathy

I told you we didn't have a key! You can't just go trying to break down doors, that's not going to help anyone! I'm sorry, but I just don't hear anything coming from there. You've built a lot of good grace for yourself helping us, so we won't kick you out, but please, don't attempt any more property damage.

You better not try any of your remodeling here in the Gift Shop! I've got my eyes on you now. Lucky for you, I'm still happy to sell if you need anything here. No reason to turn away business!

Mystik Dann
Walden

I went up there to check out the mermaid show earlier, and I didn't hear anything when I walked down the hall. I hope you figure it out, if there's really something there. Maybe you're just tired from working so hard searching for clues yesterday?

Whew, I think this is all of them finally. Which order of insects is your favorite?

Did you know that chickens are basically living dinosaurs? Look at how they compare to raptors.

Sauros
Michel

Here's the thing, maybe that plan wasn't great, but don't worry, I have a Plan B! Perhaps it should have been Plan A, but it takes a lot more time, you see. I have studied many a prophecy and cracked hundreds of codes. If this is a language no one has heard, perhaps that means it is simply encoded! Go listen and see if you can transcribe the sounds and I'll start working on a decoder.

I'll just keep telling myself that.

This art sure is… modern. Maybe you could find some place to display it? In the back, perhaps?

You can do whatever you want, as long as you don't interrupt my shows! All that banging and hollering threw me off my game and I almost missed the timing on my tail slide flyby. I would have smacked right into the glass!

Madison
Marfusha

I'm not into the kind of science you need for message decoding, so I'm not going to be able to help you, unfortunately. Are you sure that this is really what you're hearing? It seems pretty hard to understand and transcribe. I don't hear anything...

There’s always more to learn about stars! I can’t wait to show you this new exhibit.

Armed with determination and a column from the History of Civilization exhibit to use as a battering ram, some Smoothians and Michel approach the locked door and get ready to break it down. This mystery needs to be solved, and it's obvious that it has something to do with the heist! The group gets one hit in, and Cathy immediately appears to shut down your plans. What were you thinking? Thankfully, it sounds like Michel has a Plan B.

You listen carefully to hear the whispers from the closet and are able to transcribe the sounds into letters. Hopefully you're right! Between you and Michel you should be able to figure it out, right? This is what we've been able to transcribe so far:

Decoded:

15 Less than a score of worldly cycles ago, a great event first occurred in this world. A glorious vacation where thousands gathered to celebrate their experiences together, to compete in ring toss and other games.

14 Time passed, and the gathering occurred once more, on sand and sea and for the first time I joined in, splashed in the waves and communed with the creatures. This experience changed me and I understood the power of this collective.

13 The next summer was a dream. I woke from every slumber to think about the next event, the next party. Every night I imagined it as the darkness washed over me. Nothing could stop me in my pursuit of the next adventure

12 We next learned history, explored artifacts and ancient myths and were plagued by pests. It could be hard, but I did not enjoy it any less. I imagined a place like this museum, bringing all the artifacts of our experiences together.

11 It was so sweet to enjoy these vacations with everyone, but I began to grow anxious. Each theme, each adventure, was so different. The speculations began early and ran late, and I wanted to best prepare for the next summer, to capitalize on potential gains

10 The arbiters grew bold, taking us to such far flung places as space. The next vacation could be dangerous, and I began to fear the unknown. The only thing I could control was what I knew, and I knew nothing of their plans.

9 Next came the depths of the ocean. It was too much, even for me. I did things I am not proud of in pursuit of glory and I was banished from the halls of Chicken Smoothie, never to go on a Summer Vacation again. My understanding of my mistake was immediate.

8 I tried to follow the Smoothians next year. I was lost in a jungle, humid but not suited to me. I did not enjoy my vacation apart from the group. I began to devise a plan; if I couldn’t have fun, no one could! It seemed something always sabotaged the vacations, but now I would do so, and if I was right, I would stop them before they even began.

7 The fae taught me everything I needed to know. Magic rituals to transform things, whispered incantations to make others forget, and chants that would reveal the truth of the admins plans to me. However, it took me a long time to perfect my craft.

6 Each year I have tried my hand to no avail. I didn’t acquire meaningful enough focuses for my endeavors, or other problems stood in my way. I applied to work at locations the vacation would attend too late to be hired for the time Smoothians would arrive, having to create diversions and problems after the events began, which were somehow always resolved through the power of friendship and teamwork!

5 The vacations became even more powerful, traveling back in time and revealing secrets of the universe. How dare they have this fun without me? I began to travel to each of the previous vacation sites, looking for meaning and answers.

4 I began to collect everything I needed. I did test runs and trials and thought I could find the right answers that would lead me to my goals. I gathered some artifacts that represented each of the previous vacations, but I didn’t have all of them.

3 While the Smoothians went camping, I tried to triangulate the solution to my burning questions. I accidentally destroyed artifacts in rituals, never getting the right answer, but I was getting closer. Some of my actions were blamed on campers or cryptids, and others I encouraged to act out myself.

2 The Wild West was not the place for me. I baked in the sun and almost gave up, but thankfully it was the last vacation I had to survive before the answers were laid out before me. I wasn’t able to do much, but thankfully the curse of the vacations came through to bother the Smoothians anyway.

1 Last year the Smoothians returned to somewhere they had been before and I realized this was my true answer. I needed to find somewhere that was a convergence of all previous vacations to prepare myself to find the future. I whispered in the ears of users, crawling through the forums as a bot, sowing the seeds of disagreement so no one would want to go to the same place. At the same time, I found this, the museum of everything, and I slipped advertisements in Avian and Totoro's mailboxes. They would come, they would see it, and I would finally be able to complete my ritual using the museum's artifacts. Then, for all future years, I would know where the vacation would go, and I could stop it in its tracks! Finally, no one would have fun.

Day 8 - August 1st
Cathy

Wow, this is... not what I expected. I'm sorry we didn't believe you, but it does appear that we were under some kind of spell! It must be too hard to make it affect all of you. I will admit I was upset, but we really need the museum to succeed with its reopening, and we can't have people seeing chaos when they're on a tour! Regardless, I do think it is finally time to break down that door. Are you sure that Michel is okay with us using his column? I'm sure it's just a replica, but that doesn't mean he wants to see it in pieces.

Well, I will apologize, but that doesn't mean that I'm not still on high alert for the thief! You may have decoded their plans, but that doesn't mean that they're not still around looking for stuff to steal. Nothing truly bad has happened yet, so perhaps they're still plotting! If you find them, make sure that you keep them away from my stock.

Mystik Dann
Walden

Hmm, this remains very unexplainable. I'm not sure I believe in magic, even if you tell me you've seen it before. I've never been to this fae realm or dream world, and it sounds like quite the fantasy. Did they have new and exciting insects there? Perhaps I could be convinced to take a visit in the future. In the meantime, I wish you the best in catching this thief!

Wow, it seems like I missed some things! Thankfully my dig went excellently and I have a lot of new things to show you. Perhaps someone could help me guard my exhibit, so none of my new artifacts go missing? I'm sure I could fend them off if I saw them, and I know they'd be afraid of my prowess, but you seem to be able to hear them the best, and they might be sneaky!

Look what I brought back from my dig! I’ve cast some replicas for you to take home with you.

Sauros
Michel

I knew our work would pay off! I might not have been able to hear their missives, but that was just my error in not wearing my tinfoil hat! It's not the best for fashion, and I'm supposed to look professional at work. My columns are at your service to break down that door! I'm glad that Cathy has finally decided to listen to Plan A.

Magic you say? I haven't witnessed it before myself, but it is true that the fae love their crystals. Perhaps the glowing crystals that were brought to me the other day were souvenirs from the vacation where you all met the fae? Are they still glowing now? More study is certainly needed, but I'm happy that there's something of an explanation. Make sure that you keep an eye out for this thief!

I’ll teach you about a new type of gemstone everyday, and the gemstone of the day is… Peridot!

Druzy
Van Gouache

Oh, no, no no… maybe I did hear something? It's hard to say. I was so stressed about this painting that I didn't get enough sleep, and that can lead to delirium, so I'm just going to blame it on that. I'm happy to hear that it was real, if I did have these strange whispers invade my thoughts. I'm just going to take some deep breaths and today, I will demonstrate painting these beautiful sunflowers!

If the scenery in a painting isn’t up to par, people might not realize its true beauty!

That's certainly a story you have to tell! Truly fantastical, unlike me, a very real mermaid. I'm right here, and I'm ready to keep to my schedule and perform some more shows for you! I'm working on a new move, the corkscrew tail spiral tornado!

Hope you’re enjoying the show! For an extra ticket you can hang out with my buddies in the front row.

Madison
Marfusha

From the depths of outer space to the deep creatures of the ocean, I will say I'm surprised that you figured this all out! There is always more out there than we can know or explain, so it gets called magic. Perhaps this is magic, perhaps it is science. Either way, it's certainly rude! I hope you catch the thief quickly now that you've uncovered their plans.

Upon decoding the message, you managed to convince Cathy that breaking down the door is necessary. When you enter the hallway in the morning the whispers are strangely absent. Of course, there were times when you didn't hear them over the past few days, when they took a break and then restarted in earnest--which makes sense, no one can chant forever--but this silence is new, truly empty. Sticking to the plan, you batter down the door with the column Michel provided you to find... nothing. The closet is completely devoid of anything interesting, though there is some dirty mop water in a bucket next to a big sink. You search high and low for any artifacts, but it's clear that the thief was on to you, and they've cleared out of the storage room.

Day 9 - August 2nd
Cathy

It’s frustrating that we were too late, but perhaps other clues will come to light. I really want to get this whole business done! It’s much easier to be bubbly and lead an engaging tour if I’m not constantly worried that there’s going to be a thief popping out from behind a painting!

Hmm, maybe I could learn some of this magic so I could mutate my artifact replicas into something even more amazing! I'm sure that they would sell even better if I was able to offer new and exciting options.

Mystik Dann
Walden

I suppose anyone can learn new things! These changes to the creatures you're finding do seem to be magical in nature, rather than evolutionary. That's much slower and takes many generations to achieve.

I’m always sad to see another animal moved to the extinct list from endangered. There have been some found in the wild years after being called extinct, though. Maybe there’s hope!

Wow, artifacts can be affected by this magic? Keep that away from here then! I take the integrity of my artifacts and replicas seriously and don't want to give any inaccurate information about the past because someone did something in the present!

Can you identify the creatures that were trapped in these artifacts?

Sauros
Michel

This is fascinating! In many cultures magic and myth are part of everyday life, but this takes it quite a bit further. Artifacts from past vacations of yours taking new forms is certainly not what I expected! I wish they knew more, but perhaps we'll find something else today. Keep your ear out for more whispering!

I’ll teach you about a new type of gemstone everyday, and the gemstone of the day is… Tiger's Eye!

Druzy
Van Gouache

Well, I'm glad that there is some real concrete evidence of these strange happenings now! I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help, but I'm quite invested in this painting I started yesterday. I think it's going to be my new masterpiece!

Paintings are not the only kind of art, even if they are my favorite! Here, check out this new exhibit.

That's certainly a story you have to tell! Truly fantastical, unlike me, a very real mermaid. I'm right here, and I'm ready to keep to my schedule and perform some more shows for you! I'm working on a new move, the corkscrew tail spiral tornado!

There are over 500 living species of sharks and 600 species of rays! Today I’ll teach you about just a few.

Madison
Marfusha

I'm sure it's possible radiation or some other force could have caused these mutations, but if you want to choose to believe it's magic, I'm not going to stop you! The more important thing is what can we learn from them about this thief. It's very frustrating that they seem so slippery! Always one step ahead and able to remain hidden...

There's still nothing in the storage room, but as you walk around the museum you see strange sparkles occasionally. Maybe if you caught one you could discover more clues?

A door?
Day 10 - August 3rd
Cathy

Wow, that certainly was dramatic! I guess the Museum of Everything will always have a story to tell about its place in Chicken Smoothie History. Perhaps we'll build an exhibit showing all your past vacations, and invite the transformed artifacts back if they need a job! Or they can just go home, if that's what they prefer. Must be a strange life!

I think a little bit of that magic got put into the lobby, because look at this!

We're already working on souvenir replicas to commemorate all that has happened here since you arrived! They're not ready yet, but I'm sure people will enjoy them for many years to come. You've really left your mark on this place, even if it was with a column sometimes!

The youngsters might like these toys! They probably think they’re some new invention instead of the classics coming back around.

Mystik Dann
Walden

Some things even science can't explain, but what matters is that everyone is safe now! I'm happy to talk to any of your new friends about transformation and overcoming obstacles when you're different, if they're interested! I know a thing or two about making career pivots in the face of adversity.

If you’re feeling overrun by insects, these animals might like a snack!

Not all strength is on the outside. You really did your best to persevere even when others didn't understand what was going on and suggested you were doing the wrong thing! I'm glad that this Madison character was taken care of. At the end of the day, museum curation needs guardrails and careful consideration! We can't have people who would steal artifacts involved.

We can trace the lineage of horses back millions of years!

Sauros
Michel

I was on your side the whole time, and I'm glad for it! From strange whispers to missing artifacts, we always have to be ready to adapt and accept new information as it comes. Thank you for going on this journey with me, and I'm glad that we got to execute Plan A and Plan B in the end! Quite a fun memory I'll have of using replica columns to break down doors.

I can't say I had a close relationship with Madison, but I didn't expect this! It's horrible that she thought it was okay to steal and harm others. I've been in touch with the fae after you showed me those glowing crystals, and they said that they taught her some magic, but they never intended it to be used in this way! She really went off on her own, which is perhaps why her rituals didn't quite work. It's probably for the best.

Did you miss a day of gemstone facts? Here, let me remind you.

Druzy
Van Gouache

All of this excitement made me so shaky and nervous, I nearly dropped my paintbrush! But I'm so happy that everything seems to be resolved now. I was on high alert for my paintings to disappear, and that's terrible for the constitution! Now I can relax and get back to what I like best, making art!

Now that the exhibit is all set up, we realized that we have a huge excess of items! Art should be enjoyed, so here’s a few to take back home with you.

This one is from my favorite painter of all time… me!

When you enter the aquarium there is no current show, and you don't see Madison anywhere. You do hear strange banging from the storage closet next door, though. Maybe the thief has returned? You'd better go check it out!

With the right setup, many fish can be kept safely and live long and healthy lives in an aquarium! Make sure you do your research before you start your own.

Madison
Marfusha

It's true that we're always discovering new things, but I didn't expect this one to be our coworker trying to ruin everything! I have always been disappointed that I didn't get to go to space, but that doesn't make me hurt anyone else. I hope that everyone takes that to heart and doesn't try to cheat or steal in future vacations. It's best to work together and be kind to others!

The full planetarium is finally set up! Come check out the final exhibits.

pic.php?k=7E64B3135E2FE040FB3842DF31D519EA&bg=ffffff

You open the storage closet and come across a shocking tableau. Squiddy, who many Smoothians thought could be responsible for the heist, is here, but they have their tentacles crossed as they stare down Madison.

"Well, well, well. Look who I've finally caught!" Squiddy exclaims. "No more games. I'm here as a representative of the Museum Society and we have been watching you. Through the years myself, my cousins, and other members of the Society have witnessed strange happenings, heists, and unexplainable phenomena that led us here, to you! It is completely unacceptable to steal artifacts, whether they be from museums or other places and times."

Madison looks shocked, and she tries to deny the accusations. "I don't know what you're talking about! I have to get back to my show… the people are waiting for me! I have a new move I've been perfecting!"

In that moment, the transformed artifacts you rescued join you at the door. "I remember now!" the merlion insists. "That's her! She captured me!"

Madison looks panicked, her eyes shifting across the assembled artifact creatures. "How did you get out?" She slaps a hand over her mouth and shudders. Suddenly, her tone shifts and she begins to mutter in the same strange whispers you have heard before. "Iouyjgxot, iouyjgxot! Oeivoy ix mxvo suji. Jixs iqe zmzle. Leupe iqcj sluze!"

"That's enough of that," Squiddy says. "Before I take you to the Museum Society for them to evaluate your crimes, do you have anything else to say?" You're surprised that Squiddy would offer this, but you are interested, so you stay quiet.

Madison's face can't seem to decide if she's determined or distraught. Her expression flashes from squinting eyes to near tears, and then, before your eyes, she transforms:

pic.php?k=9CD20CE2A2DE9EF786829E8C06FE8EDB&bg=ffffff

"I wanted to be a real mermaid so bad," she cries. "I wanted power and recognition… to be remembered. I know I shouldn't have cheated, but I didn't deserve to be banned! Everyone had so much fun without me. It hurt. I know I was warned before, but it didn't seem that serious! It was all fun, until it wasn't, and then I wanted no one to ever have fun again…"

"No more," Squiddy says. They look at the artifact creatures. "Are there more of you that we need to rescue?"

The snake slithers forward. "I don't think so. She had other artifacts from other vacations, but the ritual did not transform them as it did us."

"Well, we'll have to recover those, but it sounds like we can wait for her to tell us where they are. As I'm sure she will," Squiddy says. They seem satisfied, and when they walk up to the crying Madison she collapses in defeat. Squiddy is able to lead her out with a tentacle over her shoulders. The gathered Smoothians watch carefully as Squiddy takes her to a vehicle marked "Museum Society" and puts her in the back seat.

"Your vacations are safe now!" Squiddy calls. "Well, at least from her. There always seems to be something that goes wrong, but I'm sure you'll handle it... good luck!"

Stars

Starting on day 9, users could find tiny stars on the map, that when clicking them, gave a pet. These stars were first seen the previous year during the RPG event.

: pic.php?k=DB16D5CE8A5B786EE3C0A3244F7F0648&bg=ffffff

"Hello, there! This is a bit awkward. I don’t think I’m supposed to be here. I don’t remember anything before this morning. When I woke up I was all alone in the basement behind some boxes, and I feel like I should be… smaller, or that I’ve grown? It’s quite an odd sensation. Something is different but I can’t remember what. Unfortunately, I don’t know how I got here or what happened. A thief, you say? I don’t know."

: pic.php?k=D38C600DDAE4E67E7C1A055981984B1B&bg=ffffff

"I heard something… chanting perhaps? I felt many things reaching out for me. And I feel changed. I don’t recall anything before but I know this is different. I woke up and realized I was among the clouds, but they weren’t real. I touched them and didn’t get wet. So I climbed down and you all were here, asking me about a thief. I don’t know who or what brought me here, but I want to go home."

: pic.php?k=7DCAC7156500E6AF859AB882CB7DC55E&bg=ffffff

"Someone tried to put me in water, but I don’t think I belong there. I’m sugar, aren’t I? But I was smaller, more bite sized. There were fish, but they’re not like me. I called out asking for help, but no one answered. So I walked away and left the aquarium and no one was around, but now you’re here and asking me questions. I’m sorry I don’t know the answer, they left me all alone."

: pic.php?k=C8B7DC29940EB650194838503D6D006B&bg=ffffff

"I woke up inside a planet, which was quite a strange experience for me. I’ve seen a few planets in my day, and this one was fake and waxy. So I climbed out, and you all were here. I am trying hard to remember what I saw. Scales? Clouds? Sugar crystals? Fins? It’s kind of a blur. I think I remember these others, but they were different before. Then there was chanting I couldn’t understand, and I felt myself begin to change. I don’t recall much more, I’m sorry."

: pic.php?k=31AD15B64ED17C62FD8BD903717D5C70&bg=ffffff

"I think I remember more than the others, though it’s a bit fuzzy. I felt kinship with my captor, almost like we came from the same place. I was young and I didn’t understand why I was taken from my family. I grew, and then they chanted, and I grew more. I don’t remember what they looked like, though I know I’ve seen them. They taught me tricks in the water. It was nice sometimes. But sometimes it wasn’t"

: pic.php?k=3B5ADAC22F231DD7A1D91C7022390760&bg=ffffff

"Yessss. I know them. The keeper. Sometimes they were kind and bubbly. Effervescent. Other times they were strange and confusing, whispering unknowable words. They came in and out, switching between their faces. They tried to tell me to forget, but the internet always remembers. You can’t erase your trail completely. I went to be with others similar to me, the slippery ones. But they’re not quite the same, and I am changed from what I was. I’ve told you what I know. Can you send me back to the web?"

Mini-Game: Gem Sort

Like in years past, The Museum of Everything had a mini-game that users could play starting on day 2 of the event. This game, called Gem Sort, consisted of users trying to get the best score by clicking gems into sets of matching 3 or more in order to clear them from the board. This game was just for fun and had no reward.

trans.php?k=E126A45BDA3E09147F1E5E47EB1836A2&i=XGNuSE47B8Ass0PA0_1mSg

Gems

Clicking a gem would cause it to go to the next level and would consume one point of life. Life would be regained when matches were made. Users could also buy upgrades using gems that were occasionally rewarded during play. These upgrades could increase or decrease a gems number, or bomb an area to remove those gems entirely.

Artifacts Investigation

With artifacts still missing from the museum, users started looking for clues begining on day 5. This was done through a randomly selected event that users could do every 30 seconds

$staff is painting a masterpiece, but $user is convinced there are strange symbols in the brush strokes. More investigation is needed!
$staff is seen sprinting out of the Ancient World exhibit. Upon further inspection, $user finds that SOMEONE knocked over the amber display.

$user thinks they see something suspicious moving around in the aquarium. Upon further inspection, it was just a fish.

Storage Closet

On day 7 users gained access to a mysterius storage closet on the second floor, from which cryptic whispers could be heard. The first portion of the message was released at rollover, and a subsequent paragraph was released every hour on the hour until all 15 paragraphs were revealed. These paragraphs were written with the use of a cipher, with the number at the front of the code in roman numerals indicating the amount of shift a user would have to use in a ROT (rotation) cipher to decode the paragraph. This was up until the last paragraph which could be decoded using a monoalphabetic substitution cipher with the replacement alphabet being "EARZXKLNCGSJMUFDHYWBTPOVIQ"
