Board Themes

On Chicken Smoothie there are many board themes you can chose from to decorate how you see the site to your tastes. Better still; new themes are added on occasion! "Dull Green" is the default board theme that you'd see while logged out of your account. However, around holidays or special events (particularly Halloween and Christmas) the site's default will be changed to the related board style.

On some occasions an event may force a user's board style to change. Usually users can immediately return to the setting they prefer, and the board was only changed to grab attention about a new event that had started. However, during the April Fool's Day prank of 2017, users could not adjust their site theme for a full 24 hours.

There is also a special site theme for mobile users that mostly mirrors the Dull Green style. This particular setting optimizes the layout of the site for mobile users, although it's both possible to equip the mobile theme on desktop, and the regular themes and mobile.

Your account's theme can be changed as you please through the My Account page.

CS Business

Added in September 2012.

This simple theme lacks the bright colors and artistic fonts which Chicken Smoothie is known for. Rather it sports a very minimalistic look, with a more serious air about it, and was created from a user's suggestion. The CSBusiness was created to provide users who liked to browse Chicken Smoothie in public with a more subtle design. Due to the bright nature of some of the older themes, it could draw unwanted attention from passers by. The soft grey is not nearly as captivating, and thus helps users browse in"stealth-mode" among their peers.

CS Christmas

Added in December 2010.

A festive theme was created for the holiday season, swapping the usual tropical colors for a winter palette. Candy cane stripes extend down either side of the site. This theme is featured annually during the month of December, where the site switches it to the default in preparation for the holidays and the Advent Calendar.

CS Dull Green

Added in August 2009.

In 2009 a whole new site layout was revealed, which is the modern look the site still sports by default! This theme also accompanied the reveal of several new features, as Chicken Smoothie stepped up in the digital world to accommodate its rapidly growing user base. Although it bore resemblance to the previous look, it was the first to feature navigation at the top of the site.

CS Grey Scale

Added in April 2017.

This theme was released as part of an April Fool's Day prank in 2017. The event is affectionately called Totoro's Takeover", which featured one of the site's mascots, Totoro, painting the entire site to match her feathers. After the event, the new theme was added to the list of options. Unlike all the other layouts available, CS Greyscale actually affects the appearance of user avatars in addition to the general site, making even this custom content greyscale.

CS Green

Added in November 2010.

Released after the first debut of the site's Halloween theme, this style was briefly made the default to test out the design. This theme was similar to the CS Dull Green board style, but it was much brighter, more closely mirroring the previous set up from years before. However, this would not remain the default for long, being switched again in favor of the new CS Christmas style (although users could have switched as they pleased regardless).

CS Hallow

Added in October 2010.

To get users in the spooky spirit, this board theme was created for Halloween. Featuring darker colors, with candy corn decorating the side bars, this theme matches its intended holiday well. This theme is featured annually in the lead up to the Halloween event. After the spooky season has passed, the theme is cycled back out of focus until next year.

CS Sea

Added in June 2017.

With the reveal of the Lost City Summer Event, this new site skin was also released and installed as the default to match the tone of the event. It closely resembles an older theme named "CS Squiddy," with a few updates; namely a slight change in hue to the background for a more blue color, and the removal of some decorative images at the bottom of the site.

CS Space

Added in June 2016.

The Summer Event in 2016 featured an adventure in Space, and this site theme was released and set as the default during the event to fit the spirit of the event. This theme not only features art for the background, but also at the bottom of the page, as fit the site is resting on the surface of the moon. This is unusual as most board styles only affective top and sides for the most part.

CS Squiddy

Added in April 2012.

As part of an April Fool's joke, this was released in 2012 to help sell the park that the site had really changed it theme and domain to be based around squids-- one of Tess's favorite animals. After the event, users could continue to use this theme if they wanted to. Not only did this theme feature new header art, but also it had a small bit of art at the bottom of the page, unlike most other themes. This pushes the pages out to be a bit longer than usual while using this setting.
