Kwanzaa is an annual celebration of African American and Pan-African culture, running this year from Dec. 26th to to Jan. 1st! These gifts will be available until (and including) January 1st.
Here's how to arrange your candles! Put the three red candles on the left, the three green candles on the right, and put the black candle in the center.
Each evening, light an extra candle which represents one of the seven principles (by the seventh night, all the candles will be lit).
After lighting the candle, you discuss the principle of the day with family or friends, reflect on its meaning and how to practice it in your life, and share stories, poems, or songs related to the principle. Afterwards you blow out the candles, to be re-lit the next evening.
Day 1: Light the black candle (Umoja - Unity) Days 2-4: Light a red candle (Kujichagulia - Self-Determination, Ujima - Collective Work, Ujamaa - Cooperative Economics)
Days 5-7: Light a green candle (Nia - Purpose, Kuumba - Creativity, and Imani - Faith)Gifts
